Our Parent Coach Trainers Academy (PCTA) offers professional coach training designed for individuals who work with, or aspire to work with, parents of adolescents and young adults. The program is also ideal for professionals looking to strengthen their coaching skills and expand their ability to support families.
PCTA provides 30 hours of interactive instruction and practicum experience, focusing on developing competency in twelve foundational coaching skills. Led by experienced instructors, the training emphasizes hands-on learning, practical application, and individualized feedback. Participants have numerous opportunities to practice and refine their coaching skills in a supportive, collaborative learning environment.
We are proud to be an approved Registered Credential Training Provider through the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE). Our academy provides 30 hours of qualifying coach training toward the Board Certified Coach (BCC) credential, creating an additional professional credentialing opportunity for participants. Graduates also receive recognition as a Certified Parent Coach through Parent Coach Professionals upon successful completion of the program.
Training Components Include:

Live coaching demonstrations

Coaching practicum with opportunities to practice coaching skills

Instructor feedback and written assessments

Realistic parenting scenarios and coaching skill application

Assigned reading and writing done on your own time

Class and coaching recordings provided
Sample Topics Include:

Developing a trusting relationship with your client

Engaging the client through powerful questioning

Creating awareness and exploring new solutions

Practicing clean, clear and concise communication

Inspiring the client to be a more effective parent
A Parent Coach Certificate is issued upon successful completion of the following:

20 hours of interactive Zoom class and 10 hours of self study

Written assignments for each of the 12 chapter studies
-
A written final review
-
Demonstrated competency of the coaching skills through Zoom sessions

Demonstrated competency of the coaching skills during final practicum review

Registration: Applicants must submit a participant questionnaire, a signed contract, and a learning agreement to enroll in the course. A deposit of $500 is required to hold a space. This is applied toward the total program fee of $3,500 which is due two weeks prior to the start of the course. No refunds will be offered if a cancellation occurs within 14 days of the start date. Payment plans may be available on a case by case basis. A link to the course materials will be made available to participants after the course fees have been paid in full, within two weeks prior to the course start date.
